Part 2: Where You're Going in Your Calling

At age 50+, your best calling is yet to come! Biblical evidence, modern research, and my 10+ years of coaching prove it! Tony Stoltzfus refers to this best-ever calling as the Fulfillment Stage of your calling.

In today's blog, you'll learn what the Fulfillment Stage of your calling is (or will be, if you're not there yet), its 4 Phases, and what to do depending on where you are.

What Is the Fulfillment Stage and When Dies It Begin?

Your Fulfillment Stage is the last stage of your lifelong Christian Calling Journey, shown below. There, you’ll become who God created you to be and do what He created you to do.

Your Fulfillment Stage will begin when you gain enough clarity about what to do in your Fulfillment Calling to take the first steps.

What Does the Fulfillment Stage Look Like?

Your Fulfillment Stage consists of Four Phases, shown below. God led me to identify these Four Phases as I coached 100+ people over 10 years, studying the relevant Bible concepts along the way.

If you’re still in your Valley of Identity—having not yet reached Fulfillment—learning the Four Phases will give you hope for your future. If you’re already in your Fulfillment Stage, you’ll discover which Phase you’re in, God’s goal for it, and your focus in it.

Phase 1 of Fulfillment: Dig In

Let’s not get tired of doing what is good. At just the right time, we will reap a harvest of blessing if we don’t give up. (Galatians 6:9)

What this Phase is:

• It's the beginning of your Fulfillment Stage! Phase 1 starts when you take the first step of your Fulfillment Calling, which will be different from your previous calling. Sometimes, the differences are great, sometimes not. But you'll not do exactly the same things as you did before.

God’s goal for this Phase:

• To produce the first significant fruit in your new Fulfillment Calling.

Your focus in this Phase:

• To diligently and faithfully persevere as your Fulfillment Stage gets started.

Phase 2 of Fulfillment: Ramp Up

Whoever abides in me and I in him, he it is that bears much fruit, for apart from me you can do nothing. (John 15:5)

What this Phase is:

• It's the time when God ramps up your expertise in your Fulfillment Calling, thereby ramping up your impact (but not yet on the largest number of people).

God’s goal for this Phase:

• To make you a confident expert in your highly specialized Fulfillment Calling.

Your focus in this Phase:

• To do your part in becoming a confident expert in your highly specialized Fulfillment Calling.

Phase 3 of Fulfillment: Max Out 

I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. (2 Timothy 4:7)

What this Phase is:

• It's the time when God brings the greatest impact on the largest number of people through your Fulfillment Calling.

God’s goal for this Phase:

• To guide and empower you to finish well in your Christian life and calling.

Your focus in this Phase:

• To do your part in finishing well in all aspects of your life and calling.

Phase 4 of Fulfillment: Add On

Behold, I am doing a new thing. (Isaiah 43:18)

What this Phase is:

• It's the time when God calls you to do additional Fulfillment Roles.

God’s goal for this Phase:

• To send you Developer Roles and Connector Roles to maximize your Main Roles.

Your focus in this Phase:

• To trust and follow God’s timing for all three kinds of Fulfillment Roles.

• God, here are my fears and hopes about my upcoming Fulfillment Stage (tell Him). God, what do you want to say to me about my fears and hopes?
• God, how do you want to encourage me about each of my future “Four Phases of Fulfillment”?

If you’re already in your Fulfillment Stage, please ask God the following questions:

• God, what Phase am I in right now?
• God, what do you want to reveal about my specific focus for the Phase I’m in? (For example, if you’re in “Phase 2: Ramp Up,” ask God how He wants you to become a confident expert in your Fulfillment Calling.)
