Privacy Policy

Hi, this is R.J. Scherba!

My website is https://rjchristiancoaching.com. Please feel free to contact me using the Contact tab on this website.

Privacy is important to me, and I want you to know what I do with your personal information.

What Personal Data Do I Collect from You, and Why?

"Personal information" is any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, computer IP address, and e-mail address. Below are the kinds of data I might collect from you and why.

  1. If you opt-in to receive a free resource from me, including my weekly blog, I collect your name and e-mail address to give you the free resource.
  2. If you buy a resource from me, I collect your name and email address to deliver the resource and your credit card info and mailing address to process your credit card.
  3. An email management company automatically sends the blog I write weekly to everyone who has signed up to receive it. This company tracks who opens which emails and which links in the email they click. This helps me to send you information that might interest you.
  4. My website uses cookies and similar technologies to track which pages you visit. This improves your experience with my website so that you are not continually presented with pop-ups. I do not use cookies for marketing purposes.
  5. If you comment on my blog, my website stores your comment and your computer’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it so that your picture is posted with your comment. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy.

What Is the Legal Basis I Have for Collecting and Processing Your Information?

  1. If you opt-in to receive a free resource from me, including my weekly blog, the legal basis is that you signed up online, received an email to confirm, and clicked on the link to receive the free resources. This is called double opt-in. I use it to ensure you were the one who signed up, not someone pretending to be you.
  2. If you receive a for-pay resource from me, the legal basis is that you signed up online, you paid for the resource online, and you received the resource. You will receive an email confirmation for both the resource and the payment.

Who Has Access to the Data I Collect?

I use the third-party companies listed below.

  1. ActiveCampaign is the company that automatically emails my weekly blogs to the people who signed up to receive them. The Privacy Policy for ActiveCampaign is at https://www.activecampaign.com/privacy-policy
  2. Paya is the company that processes any credit card payments if you purchase resources or coaching services from me. The Privacy Policy for Paya is https://paya.com/privacy-policy
  3. Bluehost and WordPress are my website management services. Their Privacy Policies are https://www.bluehost.com/terms/privacy-policy and https://wordpress.org/about/privacy, respectively.

How Do I Secure Your Data?

  1. My website is protected by SiteLock Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
  2. The third-party companies I use (see the previous section) are protected by Secure Sockets Layer (SSL).
  3. If you pay me for coaching services, I destroy your credit card information after I enter it into the credit card processing system, Paya (see above).

What about Links to Other Websites on My Website?

My website includes links to other websites. I have no control over those websites, so please check their Privacy Policies.

How Long Do I Keep Your Data?

  1. If you are subscribed to my weekly blog that you receive via email, I will keep your name and email address until you unsubscribe. I might unsubscribe you if you do not click on any emails for one year, but I will not unsubscribe you before emailing you to find out if you want to keep receiving my emails. You can unsubscribe anytime by clicking Unsubscribe at the bottom of my emails.
  2. If you signed up to receive a free resource other than my weekly blog, I keep your name and email address for 36 months. You can ask me to remove your information before that time. (If you are also signed up for my weekly blog, I will still have your name and email address, and I will continue to send you the weekly blog until you unsubscribe.)
  3. If you signed up to receive a for-pay resource, I keep your name, email address, and record of payment, but NOT your credit card info, for seven years for tax purposes. Your credit card info is secured by Paya according to their Privacy Policy (see above). (If you are also signed up for my weekly blog, I will still have your name and email address, and I will continue to send you the weekly blog until you unsubscribe.)

What are Your Rights?

  1. You have the right to be informed about how your personal information is used.
  2. You have the right to ask for changes in how your personal information is used by contacting R.J. Scherba through the Contact tab of this website.
  3. You can unsubscribe from my free weekly blog at any time.

What if My Privacy Policy Is Updated?

If I still have your email (see above guidelines) when my Privacy Policy changes, I will email you about the changes. The changes are also on my website, on the page you are now reading. To access this page in the future, you can go to the About tab and click Privacy Policy.

Thank you!

Please let me know of any questions. It is my aim to treat your personal information with the highest standard of integrity and transparency!
